It’s May 2022 now, which means Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3 is actually closer than you might think. Season 2 will only last 11 weeks when all is said and done, which is a few weeks shorter than several recent seasons. This means that a brand new battle pass, overhauled map, new loot pool, and more should be expected very soon. But what do we know about this next season of Fortnite? Quite a bit actually, though most of it comes from leaks and rumors, albeit believable. Here’s everything we know about Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3 so far.
Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3 Start Date
Epic hasn’t officially revealed the start date for Fortnite Season 3, but as always, we can reliably infer when the new season will arrive anyway. In-game, you can check out the in-game battle pass menu, which in small print at the bottom of the screen always shows the active dates of the current battle pass. We can expect the last date for the Battle Pass to be the last day of the season. In this case, it’s Friday, June 3. That would mean Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3 most likely kicks off on Saturday, June 4.
There are a few caveats to this expectation, however. For one, the end of a season is subject to change at any time, as we’ve seen many times in 2020 as Epic Games adapted to the new home workflow amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Until Epic says otherwise officially, the door is at least a little open for the possibility that the end date could change.
The other possibility is that there are extended downtimes between seasons. Downtimes exceeding a day or less are normally reserved for new chapters, not new seasons, but if the story or technical reasons require it, we could see Fortnite season 2 go offline on June 3 and not not having a new season to immediately jump into on the next day. Fortnite’s past seasons have ended on Saturday and launched on Sunday, so already this next season seems to be launching on a new day of the week, although perhaps even better for the millions of players who’d rather not worry about school or work the next day.
Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3 Battle Pass: Darth Vader and Indiana Jones?
The next battle pass should be big, according to some credible leaks. It’s been years now since a Fortnite battle pass included at least one licensed character, and that trend seems to be continuing in Season 3 with one of the most requested characters to date: Darth Vader.
Star Wars Sith Lord Would Be Part Of Season 3 By Reliable Tabor Hill AKA TaborTimeYTwho also revealed that Indiana Jones would also be coming to the game. Although Hill didn’t specifically say that either or both of these characters would be included in the battle pass – they could just being sold in the Item Shop, after all – given Fortnite’s penchant for licensed characters in Fortnite’s Battle Pass, we’re willing to bet at least one of them will be unlockable with the Season 3 Battle Pass.
We’ve also seen six of The Seven’s seven heroes enter the game, almost all via battle passes. The latest member, The Order (allegedly the sister of The Imagined) would also fit one of the eight alleged character slots in Fortnite’s Season 3 Battle Pass.
Besides some of these possibilities, what’s most likely is that the battle pass will include several original characters created by Epic, which can be found in virtually all battle passes – the only exception being Chapter 2 entirely Marvel, Season 4 Battle Pass. With past favorites like Peely, Jules, and Fabio Sparklemane showing off what Fortnite’s art team can do, it’s always an exciting part of each new season to meet new heroes ( and villains) in the Fortnite omniverse.
Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 2 Final Event
Will there be a Fortnite final event? It’s hard to say at the moment, but the story certainly seems to be heading towards it. During some of the story-driven Resistance quests in Season 2, the Seven-led Resistance worked to monitor and potentially sabotage something they call the Imagined Order’s Doomsday Device. This device appears to be a last resort mechanism that the IO may think he must use to stop The Seven’s takeover of the island.
For weeks now, the Resistance and the Seven have been successfully driving the IO out of every pocket of the map, and we know from leaks that the IO will eventually be driven into a small region of the map, which may bring the group to act like a caged animal with your back against the wall. Could the IO use this Doomsday device, and if so, what does it do? More importantly, how can The Seven disable it before it’s too late. All of these questions seem like perfect material for a Season 2 finale event.
As time goes on we will surely hear more about Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3, and in such cases we will make sure to keep this page updated. Get ready, the island is once again plunged into chaos.
