Vanguard Zombies is finally getting round-based maps

Call of Duty: Vanguard has had a tough time since release, as the community has gone downhill on multiplayer and zombies have grown more and more hated over time. Luckily, Treyarch heard this criticism, with the developer modifying its Call of Duty: Vanguard plans in response to fan frustration.

As many will surely know by now, the community’s big problem with Call of Duty: Vanguard it’s that it’s giving up a lot of what made zombies great. The game launched with no Easter Eggs, Wonder Weapons, hidden music, and no Pack-A-Punch camouflage. Worse still, there was no round-based content on day one. While Terra Maledicta fixed a few issues by bringing back Wonder Weapons, Easter Eggs, and camos for upgraded weapons, the map was still built around objectives – a style that the Zombies fan base frowns upon.

Although Treyarch tried to ease frustrations with a round-based type of objective for Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies was not the same as a real map. Luckily, those who prefer the old style are in luck, as the developer is pivoting to making tower-based maps for the rest of the game. Call of Duty: Vanguard life cycle. Fans will be waiting until the end of Season 3 for this map to release, so it will be interesting to see if it brings inactive players back.

As for what this card will be, it is confirmed to be a reimagining of Shi No Numa. With the main map hut already present Call of Duty: Vanguard‘s Der Anfang map makes sense, because Treyarch can save resources. However, it’s important to note the phrase “reinvent”, as the map will not be a full remake. Instead, it will be comparable to Blood of the Dead and Tag Der Toten, with significant changes made to expand the scope of the location and create a different gameplay loop.

As for the features of this new Shi No Numa, Treyarch revealed several details about the tower-based map. It will include a main quest, side quests, and a Wonder Weapon quest, as well as a new area. Additionally, the Flogger Trap will return alongside Electric Traps, with confirmation that the Dark Aether narrative will continue in the updated Shi No Numa as well. Treyarch has also confirmed that Sacrifice will be the final objective added to Call of Duty: Vanguardreaffirming that all future content will be in the traditional style.

Although this card will still be available in a few months, as Call of Duty: Vanguard Season 3 hasn’t even started yet, the fact that it ushers in a new era for the game’s Zombies mode is exciting. Hopefully the card delivers, allowing players to donate Call of Duty: Vanguard one more chance.
