Another day, another Wordle.
There’s been a weird rhythm to my days lately. Writing a daily Wordle guide somehow makes me feel time passing more distinctly. It’s still Thursday. I’m aware of it and I’m aware of it in a way that I never used to be. This is today’s Wordle, Thursday April 21, and next week I’ll be writing about Wordle on Thursday April 28.
Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow crawls on this little rhythm from day to day, until the last syllable of recorded time; and all our yesterdays have enlightened the fools on the road to dusty death.
So, how are you. Mortality stares back at us, teeth bared and smiling, a macabre reminder of our time past and our time remaining.
But I get lost in reverie. We’re here to talk about Wordle, and we’ll talk about Wordle.

Today’s Wordle #306 Answer and Hint
Before going any further, I must warn you of spoilers. Spoilers ahead. Spoilers oh! Spoilers await! Spoiler ambush! Spoilers galore! Spoiler spoiler spoiler!
And a hint!
What makes an apple brown.
And the answer is . . .
Wow, what a tricky word! It’s one of the only (only?) words I’ve seen in Wordle that actually include the letter “X”. Quite rare as far as letters are concerned. I almost didn’t get that one, to be honest.
My first guess was actually pretty strong (and Wordle Bot agrees) giving me two of the three vowels I needed. Still, needing three vowels is rare but a word like Goodbye would have been better this time around.
Hello Wasn’t a good guess, but I was sort of drawing a blank at this point and wanted to test the vowels in different boxes. Scone was better, but not by much. At least now I was pretty sure the ‘O’ would be the first letter since words like canoe were not an option.
Obese was a bad guess. Wordle Bot was quick to point this out. I just couldn’t think of anything with an ‘O’ in the first box and an ‘E’ in the last box, but I should have known better since scone eliminated the ‘S’.
It took a lot of brainstorming to arrive at the answer, although it was the only remaining optional word. Who thinks oxide? It’s just a very random word! But I finally got there, and all is well this ending is good.
Happy Thor’s Day, dear Wordlers!
