Two companions will join the players in their adventures on the High Isle: Ember and Isobel. Ember is a Khajiit with flexible morals who grew up on the streets and is well versed in the magical arts as a wizard. Isobel, on the other hand, is an honorable Breton and aspiring knight who possesses certain skills in the manner of the Templars. Ember and Isobel are an extension of the system introduced in the black wood Chapter with Mirri Elendis and Bastian Hallix, the first two companions of The Elder Scrolls Online.
One of the main requests from the playerbase since the system was introduced a year ago was for companions who did not object to the player-character performing unsavory and immoral acts such as murder. Ember seems to be a response to these demands – according to public domain tests – her disposition appears to be that of a horny, impressionable young woman who takes equal joy in exploring the world and thinning the pockets of an unsuspecting merchant.
In contrast, Isobel Velois is a minor noble turned knight who, despite her upbringing and choice of profession, is anything but stiff or preachy in her conduct. Voiced by Laura Bailey, who did voice acting for Skyrim first complex companion in Serana, Isobel quickly becomes a favorite due to her base healing power as a Templar, pushing through dungeons in The Elder Scrolls Online only an even more viable strategy.
Regardless of the companion chosen by the players to be accompanied, high island promises a land of adventure, wealth and intrigue – and it never hurts to have someone watching your back.
The Elder Scrolls Online: High Isle will be released on June 6 on PC, Mac and Stadia, and on June 21 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
