Unreal Engine 5 is now available alongside playable shooter Lyra

We got a small glimpse of what Unreal Engine 5 could do when PlayStation announced The Matrix Awakens last year, but the engine has been in early access ever since. That came to an end today, as Epic Games launched Unreal Engine 5 alongside a playable shooter called Lyra. The shooter is pretty much meant to be a set of tools that budding game developers can use to create their own projects. We’ve had a lot of announcements and rumors from developers working on new projects with Unreal Engine 5, but probably one of the most high-profile and concrete is Crystal Dynamics’ recent announcement that they will be developing the next Tomb Raider on the motor. It was pretty much speculated that Crystal Dynamics would make another Tomb Raider game, though the announcement of the new engine will have you wondering what’s in store for Lara Croft’s next adventure.

Life Is Strange: True Colors leads the latest Xbox Game Pass additions

Xbox Game Pass fans rejoice as the April batch of additions have been revealed and include some big name titles to try out if you haven’t already. We have another update from Abandoned Blue Box Studios developer and director Hasan Kahraman today, which reassures fans that the removal of most tweets from the studio’s Twitter account is not due to the cancellation of the game. In fact, Kahraman claims this was done because “the concept of the game has changed”. It was also recently claimed that Blue Box is out of money and hopes to fund the development of Abandoned through the money raised from the release of Abandoned: Prologue.
