Skyrim Player’s Long-Lost Lydia Companion Suddenly Reappears

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is full of interesting companions that players can take with them on their quests, and among these individuals, one of the most popular is Lydia. Lydia is encountered at the start of the game and is therefore a companion to almost every Skyrim player has had with them at one point or another. Lydia’s unwavering devotion to the Dragonborn and her status as a marriage candidate have made her a fan-favorite companion, but sadly, she tends to get lost.

It’s not that uncommon for Skyrim companions from getting lost in its massive open world, and while there are tricks to getting them to respawn in certain places, they don’t always work. It is also possible that Skyrim companions will be killed in-world without the player knowing, so fans often have to struggle with Lydia and other companions disappearing from the game, never to be seen again.

Skyrim The gamer and Reddit user FreshLuxe claims to have lost track of Lydia quite early in the game, only to have her suddenly reappear later. In a video posted on Reddit, FreshLuxe is shown randomly encountering Lydia while they were halfway through the College of Winterhold questline.

Now, it’s entirely possible that this video was staged. After all, when FreshLuxe talks to Lydia, the first dialogue option is “Follow me”, which could indicate that she was ordered to stay there in the first place. But either way, it wouldn’t necessarily be out of place for Lydia to disappear one day and then reappear another. It’s something that a lot of Skyrim players live in their games, and not just with Lydia, but also with other companions.

It will be interesting if Bethesda’s next release star field the game has similar issues with companions. Although Bethesda has yet to properly showcase star field in any major capacity, he confirmed that the game will have companions. Since this is a sci-fi game that will likely feature multiple planets, star field companions are going to have to follow players over much greater distances than Skyrim companions do, so you’d think the potential for getting lost would be even greater.

Luckily, the wait to see Bethesda’s next game is almost over. A joint Bethesda and Microsoft showcase event is scheduled for June 12, when fans expect to see plenty more from star field and what it has to offer. While we wait for more information on future Bethesda games, fans can keep playing the Eternal Skyrimwho just released a special Anniversary Edition not so long ago.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim – Anniversary Edition is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
