Pogba graduated from Man United’s youth academy and broke into the first team before leaving for Juventus on a free transfer.
And older brother Mathias took credit for his brother’s switch to the Italian giants a decade ago.
When asked if he pushed the player’s move to Juve, Mathias told So Foot: “[Paul was] not just a little pushed, it’s thanks to me that he signed there.
“I convinced him 100%,” he added. “And look at the player he has become. In Manchester, he was given false promises.”
Amid uncertainty over the 29-year-old’s future, Mathias will continue to advise him ahead of a possible summer transfer.
Asked about the role played in plays in the career of his younger brother, Mathias adds: “The role of big brother, quite simply.
” No more no less. I will advise him until my death.
Of course, Pogba returned to Man United in a move worth £89million in 2016.
But, again, he could leave Old Trafford with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
He has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain as well as a return to Juve.
Speaking during the international break, the World Cup winner lamented not being in contention for the trophies for the rest of the campaign.
“The season is not over yet, but almost because we have no more titles to play for,” he explained.
“I want to win titles, play for something and this year and the last few years we haven’t won a title. It’s sad.
“Totally [playing for France is a breath of fresh air]. It’s the truth. There were tough times at United and I needed this break to regain my energy and my confidence.
“Sometimes when I wasn’t playing or the results weren’t good, coming here gives me a boost, a breath of fresh air that also helps me come back to my club well.”
