Nigel Farage almost destroyed Donald Trump’s interview

  • Farage sent the former president a dossier of Morgan’s criticism of him via Donald Trump Jr., Morgan claims.

Piers Morgan has claimed his interview with former President Donald Trump was nearly destroyed after Nigel Farage sewed it up by sending a “criticism dossier” via Donald Trump Jr.

Speaking to the Telegraph, Morgan said Trump almost pulled out of the “Piers Morgan Uncensored” interview for TalkTV eight minutes before it was due to start because he was enraged by the three-page document.

The document contained Morgan’s criticisms of Trump over the years, according to The Telegraph, and included a description of the former president as a “narcissist supreme”. Morgan had also criticized Trump’s refusal to accept defeat in the 2020 presidential election, Insider’s Tom Porter reported.

The “criticism record”, as Morgan put it mentioned on Twitterwas compiled by Farage, Morgan claims.

Morgan first said Farage sewed it up Friday morning at a tweet, accusing him of a “pathetic attempt to ruin” Trump’s interview. “Especially graceless after I congratulated you after yours,” Morgan wrote.

Farage, who rose to prominence as a leader of the Brexit movement, hosts a talk show on rival network GB News. He interviewed Trump in December.

The document reached Trump after Farage gave it to Trump Jr. during a visit to Mar-a-Lago a few days earlier, The Telegraph reported. Farage did not respond to Insider’s request for comment.

After weeks of planning, Morgan said he fears the case could end the interview before it even started.

“I thought he was going to cancel the interview,” he said, according to The Telegraph. “He was very angry. I had never seen him like this. But then he pulled himself together and did the interview.”

The interview, which will air on Monday, included an “incredibly heated series of exchanges” about Trump’s claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen, Morgan said.

Trump and Morgan fell out publicly this week after the former president’s team accused TalkTV producers of deceptively editing promotional clips, making it look like Trump walked off the set in anger.

TalkTV is a new British television channel operated by News UK, owned by media magnate Rupert Murdoch.
