New Fortnite leak suggests Star Wars Darth Vader could be coming to the game

According to footage from the State of Unreal event, the Dark Lord of the Sith may be coming to Fortnite in another Star Wars crossover.

fortnite is no stranger to crossovers. Most recently, Epic Games’ battle royale adds Ezio and Eivor – two fan-favorite protagonists from the Assassin’s Creed franchise – in-game from April 7. It was a busy year for fortniteas the game continues to add several pop culture icons such as Marvel’s Doctor Strange, and may look to add even more in 2022.

There’s no doubt that Epic Games has done a terrific job of maintaining fortnite ever since the game became a smash hit, and its many well-implemented crossovers have played a key role in transforming Epic Games into an $8 billion company. Rumors are circulating on social media that a new collaboration with Disney may be in the works and that the new addition to the game may come from a galaxy far, far away.

According to a tweet from iFireMonkey, and shone from the State of Unreal event hosted by Epic Games today where it launched Unreal Engine 5, the second monitor showed a fortnite game dossier hinting at his possible future crossovers, with mentions of Family Guy, LossIndiana Jones and even the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader.

It would not be the first time fortnite had a collaboration with the star wars franchise, as the game featured the return of Emperor Palpatine for a limited time star wars fortnite event that began shortly before The Rise of Skywalker. Since then, Epic Games has added many star wars in-game content, with the most recent fortnite the inclusions being Fennec Shand and the towering Wookiee Krrsantan of the Boba Fett book.

The game itself has also seen a dramatic shift in what it can offer its players beyond co-op events and cosmetics, like fortnite launched a Zero Build mode, removing one of the game’s fundamental elements from its gameplay. A feature often requested by players before its official release, and which, according to popular streamers such as Dr DisRespect, has not yet reached its full potential. The Zero Build mode proves that the developers at Epic Games aren’t ready to let the game go stale just yet.

Needless to say, the nature of IP being that of a relatively blank canvas has proven to be one of from Fortnite greatest strengths, as it made it easy for Epic Games to partner with many companies to seamlessly integrate their intellectual properties into the game.
