MLB’s latest patch The Show 22 announces improvements to pitcher stamina levels during three-inning games, as well as announcing future patches.
In MLB The Show 22, players can get in on the action for three-match rounds to gain experience and work their way to rewards while saving time in the condensed game mode. While the idea was a big hit with the player base, an issue arose regarding the energy levels of the game’s relief and starting pitchers.
The problem arises precisely in MLB The Show 22, where players noticed their relief pitchers’ stamina bars turn yellow after just five pitches. While the shortened game mode cuts a nine-inning game down to three, relief pitchers typically average a few dozen pitches in a few innings.
While at-bats can be extended due to several foul balls that keep the game alive, relief pitchers shouldn’t be exhausted after a handful of pitches. While endurance scaling is moving in the right direction over the years, MLB The Show 22Relief pitchers requiring replacement after a dozen pitches will burn through any player’s bullpen in an inning or two. However, San Diego Studio announced that a hotfix adds a fix to stamina levels for starting and relief pitchers in a tweet on April 12. For players engaged in MLB The Show 22they will also notice that energy levels will also regenerate a little faster.
Since launch, San Diego Studio has struggled to deal with bugs and issues, releasing two patches in the first two days. While some problems in MLB The Show 22 are comical, others have left players without the items they bought with real money, leading them to take to social media to vent their frustrations. There’s still a lot of work to do when it comes to fixes, including players freezing after a keystroke, and the devs have released a statement saying bigger fixes are on the way. While it’s understandable that gamers get upset with the game’s shortcomings, it’s worth noting that this isn’t unusual when it comes to sports games.
The same day, MLB The Show 22 announced the fourth installment of the Headliners Set, with a Diamond Mariano Rivera of 91 overall. If the players missed picking up Billy Wagner in Headliners Set 02 last week, Rivera is a suitable alternative to boost the bullpen. There are also new Spotlight Moments that players can take on and earn 1,000 XP per challenge. With the Central Conquest map now available, there’s no shortage of things to do in the game, allowing for hours of gameplay across different modes.
MLB The Show 22 is available on PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
