MAGA Crowd Praises Trump’s Endorsement of JD Vance: ‘The Right Choice!’

Former President Donald Trump’s staunchest supporters of ‘America First’ policies praise his support for bestselling author JD Vance, a national populist, in the Republican Senate primary race in Ohio .

Vance, whose best-selling memoir Hillbilly Elegy was adapted into a film in 2020, received Trump’s “full and total endorsement” in the crowded race that also includes former Ohio State Treasurer Josh Mandel, investment banker Mike Gibbons and former Ohio Republican Party Chairwoman Jane Timken.

“[Vance is] strong on the border, tough on crime, understands how to use taxes and tariffs to hold China accountable, will fight to take down Big Tech, and was a warrior in the rigged and stolen presidential election,” Trump wrote in his approval.

Vance thanked Trump for the endorsement, writing:

I am incredibly honored to have President Trump’s support. He was an incredible fighter for hardworking Americans in the White Houseit will be again, and I will fight for America’s agenda first in the Senate. [Emphasis added]

In response, Trump’s most influential backers hailed the endorsement. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) wrote that “Trump made the right call!” and that Republicans “need [Vance] in Washington to retaliate against those who put America last.

Likewise, Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) — who also heads the National Republican Study Committee (NRSC) — called on Republican primary voters in Ohio to join Trump and back Vance in the race.

“Support [Vance] for the US Senate! #MAGA,” Banks wrote. Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), a longtime supporter of Vance’s senatorial campaign, wrote “To Victory!” after the announcement of approval.

Republican Bernie Moreno, who dropped out of the race in February, called on GOP primary voters to rally around Vance in a bid to rally support against Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH), the likely Democratic Senate nominee .

“Ohio Republicans: Unite and make sure we keep the seat in Republican hands,” Moreno wrote. “As we have seen [Tim Ryan] is a superficial, useless, tired career DC bureaucrat who has done nothing for the people he was paid to serve. It’s time for him to go home. [Vance] will make that happen.

Former Trump administration official Ric Grenell, a former Moreno supporter, suggested he too was fully behind Vance now that Trump has endorsed him.

Other former Trump administration officials like Cliff Sims, Darren Beattie and Stephen Miller have suggested supporting the endorsement.

“Trump made the right call endorsing JD Vance,” Beattie wrote.

Political consultant Arthur Schwartz wrote that Vance is the only candidate in the Ohio GOP Senate primary “who is pretty much guaranteed to win the overall…” Conservative Kurt Schlichter also praised Trump for his approval.

Christopher Rufo of the Manhattan Institute called Trump’s endorsement of Vance “a big moment” for the Republican Party.

Vance’s candidacy represented the populist-nationalist wing of the GOP with policy prescriptions to curtail the social and market power of giant tech corporations, punish multinational corporations that outsource American jobs, and criticize establishment lust. policy for foreign interventionism.

In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News from January, for example, Vance said that Big Tech companies are simply too big and too powerful and that conservatives must support efforts to reduce their control over Americans.

“A big part of what drives the censorship machine with Big Tech is that these companies are just too big and too powerful. When you have that much concentrated power, it leads to censorship. This leads to control. I think we should dismantle these companies,” Vance said. “Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp are actually the same company. They should be at least three separate companies.

“Amazon controls all of the modern hardware infrastructure of the Internet. We shouldn’t allow that to happen,” Vance continued. “We should break them by force and create more competition the same way Teddy Roosevelt created competition in the steel industry.”

Vance’s speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) attacked elected politicians who help fund US involvement in the Ukraine-Russia conflict even as the US-Mexico border has seen illegal immigration and record drug trafficking over the past year. .

“One of the biggest ways the Democrats have failed the working class, failed the citizens of this country, is that they don’t even care about their citizens over illegal aliens crossing the southern border. of the United States,” Vance said.

Vance even left after BlackRockthe Wall Street multinational investment corporation, for buying single-family homes across the United States at above-market prices, which has kept new homeowners and young Americans out of home ownership.

“Blackrock is pursuing an investment strategy that will make it harder for young Americans to own homes,” Vance wrote. “The left will ignore this because Blackrock has engaged in ‘racial audits’ and other diversity BS.”

Ohio’s Republican Senate primary election is scheduled for May 3.
