Pictures of Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. recreating his father’s iconic ‘SUIII’ celebration is making the rounds on social media after the youngster scored for Manchester United The U12s during their recent victory against CEF Gironès-Sàbat.
Players like Ronaldo Jr and Kai Rooney have traveled to Spain to represent United at the MIC Cup, an international youth tournament based on the Costa Brava which hosts a selection of the world’s top academies.
Earlier this week Manchester United’s all-time top scorer Wayne Rooney wished his 8-year-old son Klay well on his first tournament.
And it didn’t take long for United’s youth generation to make an impression.
The youngster showed a poacher’s instinct against CEF when he got his toe on a free kick from the left side.
Ronaldo Jr then ran towards the corner flag and celebrated his father’s famous celebration as the fans inside the stadium shouted “SUIII” in unison. How good is it?
Ronaldo Jr, who signed for United’s youth academy in February, has recently impressed fans with his footwork in training.
As you can see in the images below, the 11-year-old boy can be seen getting the better of the others during a session.
The former Real Madrid striker certainly sees some potential in his son’s talent, but in typical Ronaldo fashion, he still thinks there’s a lot of work to be done before turning professional.
“We will see if my son will become a great footballer,” he said in 2020. “He has potential. He is fast and dribbles well, but that’s not enough.
“I always tell him that it takes hard work and dedication to succeed. I won’t pressure him to become a footballer, but if you ask me if I want it, yes I would.
“The most important thing is to become the best at everything he does, whether as a footballer or a doctor.”
