Gran Turismo 7 update 1.13 adds 3 new cars and more

Gran Turismo 7 receives its April 2022 content update, featuring three all-new cars and a unique Spa-Francorchamps race layout.

Polyphony Digital’s latest entry into the franchise, Gran Turismo 7, slowly received post-launch fixes and content updates in roughly equal measure, with players gaining access to exciting new vehicles that had never been featured in a video game before. Japanese automakers, in particular, seem to have a good relationship with Polyphony, and the latest update features some of their latest models.

Specifically, Gran Turismo 7Update 1.13 features two completely new vehicles that have never been featured in a video game before, as well as an old Gran Turismo Suzuki classic, further bolstering the game’s already impressive roster of vehicles. Along with several new cars, a new racing layout for Spa-Francorchamps is now also available.

Update 1.13 mostly complies with Gran Turismo 7Update 1.11, in that it’s not overly ambitious in scope, with Polyphony Digital opting to slowly release additional content to keep players racing. It includes the all-new 2021 Subaru BRZ-S, the Super GT championship-winning 2021 Subaru BRZ GT300, and the classic 1991 Suzuki Cappuccino. Both standard vehicle models support the full extent of Gran Turismo 7while the GT300 car is a bit more limited in what players can do with it.

What is particularly relevant for competitive players is the fact that update 1.13 introduces the full 24-hour layout of the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, which had only been presented in pieces until now. The full track layout will be perfect for racing for the fastest cars of Gran Turismo 7as it presents an exciting combination of long, straight stretches of road, as well as plenty of opportunities to make waves and swing around its bends.

GT7The April 2022 Update is just one of many content releases described for Gran Turismo 7. Polyphony Digital is sure to continue supporting the game with a wealth of content for a long time to come, and gamers have a lot more to look forward to as the year goes on.

What’s a bit more problematic than the quantity and quality of game content is the widely held idea that Gran Turismo 7 has excessive microtransactions. The game received near-unanimous acclaim until the microtransaction store was activated, after which the community was so angry at Polyphony Digital’s handling of GT7 that he was bombarded by critics. The over-grinding has since been eased slightly, but the problem remains.

Gran Turismo 7 is currently available for purchase on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles.
