Genshin Impact Developer HoYoverse Responds To 2.7 Delay Rumors

Genshin Impact the updates bring two cycles of banners that feature different five-star and four-star characters and items. The game has a very frequent update schedule, with each release lasting around six weeks, with many players being used to updates being released on time.

However, players may have to wait a bit longer to acquire them, as many rumors claim that the upcoming 2.7 version may be delayed.

A recent announcement on Bilibili mentioned that the wonderful merchandise will arrive after the Leyline Overflow event, which was originally supposed to be the last event in the update. This and the current COVID-19 issues facing Shanghai have led much of the community to believe that Genshin Impact Version 2.6 could be extended. In a statement to Comicbook.com, A representative from HoYoverse released the following statement, “We have also noticed some fan-player chatter, and our team has been doing their best to work on the game and future updates at this time.”


The fact that HoYoverse doesn’t dismiss rumors means there’s a chance they’re true. The first one Genshin Impact banner brought a brand new character, Kamisato Ayato and Venti for the first banner phase. The second part of the update started on March 22 and introduced the first banner repeat for Ayato’s sister, Cryo user Ayaka. According to the in-game countdown, his banner will expire on May 10.

It wouldn’t be surprising if HoYoverse decides to bring a third banner to the 2.6 update. Having a cycle of three banners in an update has already happened once back in Genshin Impact update 1.3, where players had the option to shoot for Xiao, Keqing, and Hu Tao. The Third Banner would most likely bring a revival for an older character, and while many players want Arataki Itto to return, previous rumors have surfaced that he will actually be a part of Genshin Impact update 2.7.


The flow Genshin Impact Beta 2.7 leaks revealed a lot of information about the two upcoming characters, Yelan and Kuki Shinobu. Both characters will be a perfect fit for the supporting role, but Yelan should be a stronger character due to his five-star rarity. Leakers have claimed that Yelan will arrive on the first cycle of banners, while players will have to wait for the second part of the update to pull Kuki Shinobu.

Genshin Impact is available on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices, with a Nintendo Switch version in development.
