Former Nintendo President Reggie Fils-Aime Is a Big Halo Fan on Xbox

In a recent interview, former Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime reveals his surprising love for the Halo franchise.

Of all the recognizable faces in the video game industry, Reggie Fils-Aime, the former president of nintendo of America, is one that many in the gaming community have a great deal of respect for. In the years since his departure from Nintendo, Fils-Aime has accomplished a great deal and has remained an active presence within the gaming community. Recently, Fils-Aime revealed his favorite non-Nintendo game, and it’s quite surprising.

It’s not uncommon for various game executives affiliated with a specific publisher to profit from titles produced by other big-name studios. For example, Xbox head Phil Spencer has repeatedly supported and praised Sony and Nintendo for several different reasons. However, in this particular case, it looks like the former Nintendo president is a huge fan of Xbox’s most famous franchise.

During an interview on G4TV, Fils-Aime was asked what his favorite non-Nintendo title was, and he responded almost immediately with Halo. Fils-Aime went on to explain how, even before he started working for Nintendo, his children begged him to buy an original Xbox and play Halo with them. While Fils-Aime didn’t quite mention how many Halo franchise he had been exposed to outside of the first game, it’s always interesting to hear what he had to say about it.

This shows how much attention Halo: Advanced Combat managed to draw on his first outing. Fils-Aime obviously wasn’t president of Nintendo of America at the time, but the fact that an Xbox game released in 2001 managed to leave him with such an impact for so many years really shows just how much the influence and popularity Halo managed to maintain.

It’s amazing how much Fils-Aime has continued to be involved in the gaming community, even though he no longer works at Nintendo. In the years since leaving the studio, Fils-Aime has created a podcast, written a book, and even joined Gamestop’s board for a time.

Either way, it will be interesting to see what else Reggie Fils-Aime accomplishes in the years to come. It is obvious that Fils-Aime still wishes to remain a figurehead within the gaming community, following the release of his book, disrupt the gamewhich detailed many stories from his time at Nintendo, including a rather tense encounter with Shigeru Miyamoto over the regrouping of Sports Wii with the Wii.
