Fans think new Liverpool supporters’ chant about Jurgen Klopp is ‘worst ever’

Fans are calling the new Liverpool fan song about Jurgen Klopp ‘the worst chant ever’.

The Reds faithful are known to be one of the most passionate fan bases and always sing loud and proud wherever they go.

“You’ll Never Walk Alone” is of course their anthem and the Kop always delivers a passionate rendition, but they also have a whole host of catchy chants – there’s the “Allez Allez Allez” and plenty of belts involving the likes of Mo Salah, Diogo Jota, Virgil van Dijk and Roberto Firmino.

Normally you’d say Liverpool fans just don’t miss the chants from the stands, but it seems the general consensus is that their latest release really isn’t up to snuff.

In Sunday’s thrilling 2-2 draw with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, the away team launched a fresh chant about Klopp keeping his promise to win the Premier League.

The lyrics, to the tune of the Beatles hit, “I Feel Fine”, read as follows: “Jurgen told me, you know. We’re going to win the Premier League, you know. He said it! I’m in love with him and I feel good.

“I’m so glad Jurgen is a Red! I’m so glad he delivered what he said.”

In his very first press conference, Klopps said: “If we sit here in four years, I think we’ll win a title, I’m pretty sure of that.”

And he duly delivered, winning the Champions League and Premier League in 2018/19 and 2019/20 respectively, as well as the Carabao Cup.

But as for the viral song, it was not well received at all and got a lot of backlash and negative reactions:

It remains to be seen if musician Jamie Webster and thousands of fans will sing this one at the Champions League final in Paris next month.

The Reds will face Villarreal in the semi-finals if they beat Benfica, having beaten the Portuguese 3-1 in the quarter-final away leg.
