Speaking on talkSPORT, Jason Cundy claimed Atletico released their ‘black belt in [the] dark arts” and “adored” the drama created by Simeone’s men in the night.
👏 “That’s who Diego Simeone is! That’s how his teams are.”
🔥 “He created an absolute demon. You don’t want to play them.
😍 “I loved it!”

“What Atleti have done is a dark arts black belt. Is there another color belt? They have two black belts,” he said.
“I have no problem with what Atletico did. It was no shame.
“It’s not the worst thing you’ve ever seen. Adrian [Durham] spoke as if someone had been murdered! There is no murder there.
“It was dark arts to the absolute max. It was unscripted drama and they almost scored with 10 men.
“Give me that kind of football, the 50 brawl, I loved it! It was a drama and you couldn’t take your eyes off it.
“That’s who Simeone is! That’s how his teams are. He created an absolute demon.
“You don’t want to play against them, they were horrible, but I loved it.”
Manchester United legend Gary Neville has also thrown his support behind Simeone, with the Sky Sports pundit admitting he “kind of appreciated” Atletico’s behaviour.
“I loved the RM [Real Madrid] game against Chelsea. Unpopular view but loved the AM vs City game too,” he tweeted.
I loved the RM game against Chelsea. Unpopular view but loved the AM v City game too. I know most were disappointed with the AM demeanor, but I rather enjoyed it. Try to find a way to win, even if your talent is inferior. City players will be proud this morning to have overcome it!
