Looks like owners of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will no longer be able to use custom characters. Many gamers are upset with this missing feature and the developers haven’t released any further updates about it. Many players are hoping for custom characters to return in an update or even as part of some DLC down the road.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was released today, and many players are already playing through many of the acclaimed classics from the Star Wars franchise. The game already has an 83/100 review on Metacritic, and many reviews on Steam are positive. Lots of gamers don’t pay attention to games in the LEGO franchise, but there’s definitely a market for them, and releases like this continue to prove it.
Last month the TT Games Twitter Profile confirmed that LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will not have character customization. Something many gamers were excited to find out at launch, although in a 2019 interview they confirmed they had picked up the feature. The statement from TT Games let everyone know that features change as a game develops, and unfortunately, it did. The game has over 300 unique characters and vehicles, but that didn’t sit well with many players.
Salvation! We would like to address this point directly. This interview is from 2019 and occasionally features changes during development.

Many players were expressing their disappointment with this missing feature. Many of them were excited to create their custom characters and wield a lightsaber throughout their adventures. Now, that’s not a possibility, and many fans of the LEGO franchise are upset about the lack of communication with their fans. Some fans even said they wouldn’t be as disappointed as they were if they brought in the characters they wanted. It turns out that some fans aren’t happy with some of the characters in the game.
Some are hoping for a DLC or update that manages to bring this feature back, although the developers have neither confirmed nor denied this possibility. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga just launched, so it’s too soon to know if they’ll release any DLC that brings this feature back, so players will have to wait and see what happens.
