A portion of Call of Duty: Warzone players believe that Vanguard weapons should not be able to accept all 10 weapon attachments at the same time.
Call of Duty: Vanguard is the latest take on the WW2 franchise, and while it would have been unthinkable for it to do so at some point, the game took on the full weight of modern warfareGunsmith function. In effect, this means that any semblance of realism is thrown out the window, but also that balancing becomes much more difficult thanks to the dozens of attachments available.
The option of equipping a regular MP-40 with a silencer, reflex sight and foregrip may sound appealing on its own, but Call of Duty: Vanguard took the idea and continued it, allowing players to choose up to 10 attachments simultaneously. While this opens things up to more experimentation than ever before, some players are now advocating for a simpler, more limited system.
COD: Vanguard effectively doubled the number of weapon attachments available compared to modern warfare and Black Ops Cold War. It seemed like an attractive proposition at first, but as the calls to nerf the Whitley LMG in Avant-garde have shown, such an open customization system allows players to build ridiculously overpowered weapons at times. As Reddit user Adananan explained, some members of the community actually believe that COD should revert to the previous variant of the system instead.
Thoughts on 5 vs 10 weapon attachments? by CODWarzone
Curiously, even some COD the devs seem to agree with this notion, as some recent leaks suggest that modern warfare 2 can only offer 5 attachments at a time. This is precisely the approach that some members of Avant-gardeas the current system doesn’t require players to choose their weapon mods at all, instead allowing them to throw everything at the wall and see what sticks.
Like Call of Duty Vanguard added new weapons to the list of available options over the past few seasons, balancing them all has become an increasingly difficult task for the developers. Players can spruce up any weapon with a veritable wealth of gadgets, and some of them are sure to boost its stats to unexpected levels. This, in turn, results in an extremely unbalanced situation war zone sandbox that actually needs constant attention from developers that could otherwise have been spent on something else.
To be fair, anyone can guess what effect, exactly, a 5 attachment limit would have on the current sandbox. This would likely limit weapon stats to some degree, although it would also eventually turn into a basic attachment meta on a given weapon, as happened in modern warfare. In any case, the probability of Avant-garde reorganizing his gunsmith mechanic is now weak, and the best thing to do in the meantime is to rely on proven methods Vanguard COD multiplayer combat tips instead.
Call of Duty: Vanguard is available now on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
