Apex Legends Glitch Makes Portal Wraith Even Better Against Aggressive Squads

Over the past two years, Apex Legends has managed to stay very relevant in the battle royale genre. One of the reasons for this continued success is the wide range of Legends players to choose from. For example, a popular choice in Apex Legends is Wraith due to her repertoire of abilities that can be used both defensively and offensively. However, players have occasionally encountered some unintended bugs regarding this legend’s specific kit.

Over several of the game’s later seasons, Wraith, also known as the Interdimensional Skirmisher, has seen a number of unintended bugs affect its gameplay. Specifically, players experienced issues with the Wraith Portal in Apex Legends. A previous glitch even caused his Ultimate to disappear around the Harvester location on World’s Edge. With that in mind, it should come as no surprise to most Wraith networks to learn that another bug with her kit has been brought to light by the community. However, this most recent glitch perhaps makes the Legend more effective in combat.

Recently, a YouTuber known as RossBobSquirrel revealed a bug that made Wraith’s Ultimate, Dimensional Rift a one-way teleporter in Apex Legends. This meant that a player jumping into the portal would exit at the point of origin where they entered, essentially going back and forth. This is obviously not how the developers intended the Ultimatemate to work, as it’s supposed to be a two-way teleporter. As a result, players could use this glitch to appear to flee from an enemy team by taking a portal, only to return to the previous location, potentially catching opponents off guard.

It should be noted that this issue highlighted by RossBobSquirrel requires the Wraith player to jump off a zipline and complete a portal while holding the interact button/key. While ziplines are found on the various battle royale maps and Pathfinder can produce ziplines for their team, this makes the Wraith achievement somewhat situational. Nevertheless, in the right situation, it seems to have the potential to be quite effective.

Unsurprisingly, a number of members of the Apex Legends The community has taken note of this issue shared by RossBobSquirrel. In the comments section on YouTube, players discussed how effective this exploit was in combat. While many players were thrilled to find this glitch in the game, some feared it was OP. For example, EpicLizard4013 hoped Respawn Entertainment could fix the exploit as they believed it made Wraith’s portal “brutal if used correctly”.

It will be interesting to see if Respawn Entertainment chooses to address this issue in the future. Interestingly, RossBobSquirrel noted that the bug has been present since Season 8, which means it may continue to persist. However, if more people start exploiting it, that might change.

Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. A mobile version is available in some regions.
