Although it is in no way intended as a horror game, Ring of Elden has its fair share of scary and unsettling moments. The most common of these is the stress and terror created by the game’s intense combat, but Ring of Elden also contains horror elements integrated into certain locations, enemies and concepts.

For example, Ring of EldenThe Dung Eater character is one of the most gruesome enemies and concepts in the game. The character’s introduction, lore, and questline all serve to tell a chilling story that has left many gamers furious with the character. and frightened by its implications. While the game offers the option to carry out the will of the Dung Eater, many players opted to kill the monstrous NPC instead.

In the case of Zones, Caelid is a festering sore of an Zone, filled with scarlet rot and mutated and gruesome creatures, and that’s without mentioning Ring of EldenThe Starscourge boss Radahn who waits at the end of the area for players to discover. However, perhaps none of the game’s areas are as terrifying as the gardens of Caria Manor, which are dark and filled with mist. As if the area’s atmosphere wasn’t enough, the area is teeming with one of the most fearsome enemies in the game: fingercreepers, more commonly known as spider hands.

While Ring of Elden‘s Godrick may have an inferiority complex, rest assured fingercreepers are nightmarish beasts with no qualms about their existence. They come in a small size and a much larger, more terrifying form. Their attacks are fast and include a terrifying grab attack that crushes the player in their multi-fingered grip. However, perhaps the scariest aspect of these creatures is that they can be found lurking underground, lying in wait for players like a trapdoor spider. Recently, Reddit user F_M119 was traveling through Azerbaijan and noticed there was a creepy sculpture that looked exactly like the hidden hands of Caria Manor.

F_M119 noted in their title that they couldn’t even bring themselves to approach the sculpture due to memories of being grabbed and crushed to death by the hidden hands. Reddit users echoed these sentiments, with many joking that it required fire to process the sculpt, as finger scrapers are very weak to fire damage. Other users have joked that vines usually set their traps under objects, further attracting players when they die.

The sculpture is perfect for Ring of Eldenbecause not only does it look like the creepers, but it’s also centered around a tree, creating a seemingly perfect symbol for the game. Whatever, kind of like Ring of EldenThe spooky Grafted Scion, fingercreepers, and sculpture cause nightmares for any player who has reached the gardens of Caria Manor.

Ring of Elden is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
