Beyond its recently changed release date and a star-studded cast, we don’t know much about the Super Mario Bros. movie. It’s not just us who are kept in the dark, as even Luigi’s voice actor, Charlie Day, has previously claimed there’s a lot of secrecy surrounding the film.
As GamesBeat insider Jeff Grubb reported, a recent leak revealed the entire plot of the Super Mario Bros. movie. characters and what we can expect to see from them. While it’s impossible to tell if the leak is real until we see some sort of trailer, Grubb says it looks believable and could be from test audiences.
Some of the upcoming non-spoiler plot details reveal the fact that Mario and Luigi will have Brooklyn accents, despite the fact that Chris Pratt once joked that they wouldn’t, and that the movie will have multiple sequences. musicals, including some sung by Mario, Luigi, Bowser and Peach.
Early reactions to the film indicated that it’s animated similarly to Hotel Transylvania, but with more color. According to this leak, the humor is full of puns and is very meta and self-aware, referencing Mario games throughout. There’s no “dabbing” or “fart jokes” to be found either, thankfully. The rest of the details found in the leak essentially spoil the whole movie, so we won’t detail them here, but they can be heard in Grubb’s breakdown.
It turns out that this conspiracy leak has been floating around the internet for a while now, but has since become more popular after Grubb read it on Grubbsnax and said he thought it was “pretty accurate”.
