The historic 150th tournament The beauty of summer in St. Andrews will surround Scotland as it returns to The Open Home of Golf for the first time since 2015. This will be the 30th occasion where the Old Course will host the Open and this year’s affair is set with a loaded field with most of the best golfers in the world.
Colin Marikawa has entered as the defending champion, but all eyes will be on Rory McIlroy, who will enter as the favorite. The Northern Irishman has been playing some of the best golf of his career lately, and he’s seen putting on a cap in a great season with his first major championship since 2014. After exiting the US Open for the specific purpose of playing The Open, Tiger Woods is also present for what could be his last valid shot to win a third Claret Jug in St. Andrews. Then there is Matthew Fitzpatrick, who is looking to close out the rare US Open-Open double after the English won the US National Championship in June.
Participating in The Open Championships can be fun and – especially this year – is an incredible treat to be able to watch golf at the biggest stage of the game in St. Andrews only.
